Community Information Session
September 11, 2017
1:00pm – 3:00pm Information Session
Multi – Purpose Centre
Through the work of the Assembly of Nova Scotia Mi’kmaq Chiefs, we have made many strides forward for the Mi’kmaq of Nova Scotia in relation to child welfare reform.
More then 25 amendments have been made to Nova Scotia’s Children and Family Services Act that directly relate to the Mi’kmaw. These changes took effect on March 1, 2017.
Under the new laws, communities play a role in providing services to Mi’kmaw children and families who may be at risk or involved in child protection proceeding.
Join us for a community information session on the new laws, processes and services available in child protection.
