This position is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the tobacco store located in the Sipekne’katik Band office. The Tobacco Store Manager will report to the Executive Financial Officer, Director of Operations and Chief and Council upon request.
Oversee and direct tobacco store staff.
Monitor, track and reconcile daily sales.
Forecast inventory requirements and execute inventory purchases.
Conduct daily, weekly and monthly inventory counts.
and update inventory database as needed.
Execute local store orders and monitor compliance with regulations.
Order supplies as needed.
Monitor gross margins and determine selling price of individual products.
Report on Financial status of the Tobacco Store, Sales, quotas and expenses.
Complete daily bank deposits as required.
Act as the point of contact for inventory vendor and regulatory agencies.
Provide detailed reports to the EFO and ensure policy/process is being followed.
Provide updates to Director of Operations and Chief and Council as directed.
Perform other related duties as requested by supervisors.
Grade 12 education with at least 1 year of experience in a retail sales environment as well as in a supervisory role. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Skills in understanding, selecting, developing, motivating and communicating with people internally (staff) and with general public (customers).
Skills in people management, particularly with the degree of delegation and control required.
Strong business management skills and knowledge of accounting principles/procedures.
Strong organizational skills.
Ability to deal with the public in a professional manner with good conflict management skills.
Ability to use and learn computer software programs.
Must be bondable.
