About Operations and Maintenance,

The department currently provides the following management services to the Indian Brook community: Roads, supply and service, water and wastewater, garbage removal, fire protection, street lighting, and capital buildings maintenance. The Sipekne’katik Band is responsible for the design, construction, operation, maintenance, and monitoring of their drinking water and wastewater systems in accordance with industry best practices and AANDC legislation, policies and protocols. AANDC provides advice the Sipekne’katik Band regarding complying with AANDC requirements. The department also provides operational maintenance to the New Ross pump house water system and the residential water ultra-violet disinfection systems. Department staff also performs, monitors and manages the delivery of services for roads, garbage collection and capital building maintenance by vendors and is subject to operational budgets.
