Drinking Water

Our goal is to provide safe drinking water for our Members. AANDC staff are providing advice to Sipekne’katik regarding complying with AANDC requirements. The annual report includes the annual inspection report from AANDC and up-to-date summaries of water quality monitoring results to Health Canada. Any centralized water system that produces drinking water for five or more households or public facilities and is funded in part or in whole by the AANDC must comply with the requirements of the Protocol for Safe Drinking Water in First Nations Communities.

Wastewater System

We are committed to maintaining a safe, centralized wastewater system for the Sipekne’katik community. As part of our compliance with national effluent quality standards, our department is subject to WSER and must submit quarterly reports. We follow all requirements for the Protocol for Centralized Wastewater Systems in First Nations Communities.
